There is much evil in the world today, as there has always been (I John 5:19). A person who is sensitive and caring will end up being hurt. Out of that sensitivity and "broken-heartedness," we have the opportunity to seek Yahushua in purity and humility. That purity and humility of heart is a great victory in the eyes of an all-powerful and holy Yahushua.

Psalm 34:18 - The Lord is near to the broken hearted, and saves the crushed in spirit.
Psalm 51:17 - The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and crushed heart, O God, You will not despise.

Since God is all-powerful and holy, He doesn’t need our human wisdom, heroic deeds, or self-righteousness. He can do great things through someone whose heart is pure and humble. When we are at our weakest, we give Him a chance to be His strongest (II Corinthians 12:9-10; 13:4).

Yet Yahushua doesn't want us to be hurt or crushed. Sometimes broken-heartedness can lead to worldly depression (II Corinthians 7:10), psychological damage, and even sickness. Proverbs 18:14 - the spirit of a man will sustain him in sickness, but who can bear a broken spirit?

Yahushua wants us to stay humble and pure, yet heal us of our wounds. By messiah's wounds our wounds are healed (Isaiah 53:5).
Psalm 147:3 - The Lord heals the broken-hearted and binds their wounds.
Isaiah 61:1 - The Lord has anointed me...sent me to heal the broken-hearted.

Everyone who endeavors to be righteous in an evil world will suffer afflictions (Acts 14:22; II Timothy 3:12). We can receive those sufferings with joy as part of our walk with the messiah. Our broken-heartedness for the world can develop pure motivations toward Yahushua and be a pleasing spiritual sacrifice in His eyes.

Yet let us also receive the anointing of the Holy Spirit to heal our inner wounds and emotional pains. Thus we can be whole as well as holy, healed as well as humbled (I Thessalonians 5:23), to serve the Lord with a clean and faith-filled heart.
