I've also heard these sounds. The instances i have heard it, they did not last as long as this recording and occurred at least three times in as many weeks, prior to January and just after the New Year. A good description of the sound would be like a giant shofar being blown from a very great height.

I would always take the New Agers' explanation of things with a grain of salt. In this case, the sounds have been reported well before November...as early as August.

 

I am certain that the odds are some recordings of the sound on youtube are hoaxes. I think it would defy logic that all of them are since many of the locations they have happened in resulted in investigations and media coverage. Aside from the recordings are written testimonials of coultless people. In any real event, though, you do tend to see instances of people attempting to recreate the thing by some means to discredit it...much like the phenomenon of crop circles.

 

Personally, i believe its happening because i've heard it too but i realize for anyone who hasn't, my personal evidence isn't general evidence.

 

Is it HAARP? Well it's certainly a technical possibility that HAARP could do this. I have heard recordings of certain "strange sounds from the sky" (other than the trumpetting noise) that i do believe are caused by HAARP. For "some reason", though, after having heard the trumpet-like sound myself...i don't tend to think that one is caused by HAARP. I have absolutely no proof to show for that... it was simply a deduction i made from having heard it. It remains just what i personally believe without being able to point to something that evidences that it is not HAARP. I guess we'll have to wait to see if any evidence one way or the other should be forthcoming.

HAARP does make strange sounds emanate from the atmosphere.  Most notably the high pitched whine and the low hum that can be felt more than heard from a human auditory perspective. If the trumpet sounds are HAARP, it is a new one. I agree that, from my observation too, it seemed unlike those types of sounds.

Here is a video showing the traditional blasts of the shofar. Compare the long note sounds tekiah and gedolah to the "sounds from the sky".
