Randy loved to drink out of my hand as I held it under the faucet. We had some good playtime, but mostly I trained him to survive well when I put him outside (he was a rescued "pinky"). When the time came, he was 5 months old, and he thrived outside. He was well fed, big and healthy, and became the dominant squirrel in the neighborhood. Turned out that "Randy" was an appropriate name, 'cause the first thing he did was mate with several females. he took very good care of them, though--even helped with "babysitting" --which is very unusual in squirrels!
