Proverbs 17:3
Perhaps its in everyone's destiny to be tested. There is however opportunity to learn from a test. Here are some verses that suggest part of this current situation is a test. A test both to measure character, and also a test meant to teach so character can grow. Here is some scripture to remind us of the testing aspect to reality, and the need to keep especially aware and vigilant during this age.
Exodus 16:4-12 - Then YHWH said to Moses, "Behold, I will rain bread from heaven for you; and the people shall go out and gather a day's portion every day, that I may test them, whether or not they will walk in My instruction.
Exodus 20:18-20 - All the people perceived the thunder and the lightning flashes and the sound of the trumpet and the mountain smoking; and when the people saw it, they trembled and stood at a distance. Then they said to Moses, "Speak to us yourself and we will listen; but let not Elohim speak to us, or we will die." Moses said to the people, "Do not be afraid; for Elohim has come in order to test you, and in order that the fear of Him may remain with you, so that you may not sin."
Judges 2:20-23 - So the anger of YHWH burned against Israel, and He said, "Because this nation has transgressed My covenant which I commanded their fathers and has not listened to My voice, I also will no longer drive out before them any of the nations which Joshua left when he died, in order to test Israel by them, whether they will keep the way of YHWH to walk in it as their fathers did, or not."So YHWH allowed those nations to remain, not driving them out quickly; and He did not give them into the hand of Joshua.
(This verse contains one explanation why evil practices are allowed to exist in the world. The nations that inhabited the holy land prior to the Israelites had horrible customs, and practices. Especially in their religious ceremonies. Many of them would immolate their children to their various demon so-called gods, and practice ritual orgies. Some even included children. Later on in the bible we see that Israel indeed did adopt these customs even setting up alters to baal in Solomon's Temple. In doing this they fulfilled the prophecies of doom and exile which was to come if Israel broke their end of the covenant (Leviticus 20:22, Leviticus 26:14-39). There seems to be entities in the universe who's main or only purposes are to tempt the people of Elohim, and lead them astray. It seems man is always subject to the ultimate test. The test of whether or not they will serve Elohim.)
Psalm 11:4-7 - YHWH is in His holy temple; YHWH's throne is in heaven; His eyes behold, His eyelids test the sons of men. YHWH tests the righteous and the wicked, And the one who loves violence His soul hates. Upon the wicked He will rain snares; Fire and brimstone and burning wind will be the portion of their cup. For YHWH is righteous, He loves righteousness; The upright will behold His face.
Jeremiah 17:9-11 - "The heart is more deceitful than all else And is desperately sick; Who can understand it? "I, YHWH, search the heart, I test the mind, Even to give to each man according to his ways, According to the results of his deeds. "As a partridge that hatches eggs which it has not laid, So is he who makes a fortune, but unjustly; In the midst of his days it will forsake him, And in the end he will be a fool."
