I've been thinking about this diet again and was wondering what others have eaten on it for the firt step where I think you're only suposed to eat 30 or so carbs a day to detox and lose weight. Do you have to eat a bunch of meat and animal products for the first part of it to work? are there veggies that are low enough carb to eat on it for the first part for it to work mostly eating them? I've noticed the amount of carbs in milk and yogurt I buy and it's a good amount for the first part, it might only be a few things for a day unless I ate alot of hard cheese and cream and was wondering what others ate for it on the first part so it worked with very little carbs? Do the carbs in plain yogurt and milk matter? Do I have to count them? Will this mess up my body's metabolism if I eat low carb veggies but don't get the recomended calorie intake? Also in the ice cream I have there is organic carob bean gum and organic guar gum are those going to effect anything?

There are three basic kinds of food nutrient forms: Fats, proteins and carbohydrates. If you are trying to eat a ketogenic diet (a diet that reduces carbs to the point of forced fat burning), the majority of your diet must then consist of proteins and fats.

If you are eating a no grain diet, then you are eliminating all seed products, not just those which are most often made into flours. The proteins and fats that are contained in plants tend to be bio-unavailable for the most part. The fat and protein storage in plants mostly goes into the seed (which is one reason, along with phytic acid tat they are hard on digestion).

You can't replace animal fat with plant fat, nutritionally speaking. Dairy will provide some fat and protein but a dairy only diet would not be nutritionally balanced. Many vegetables are low carb. Raw vegetables count as very few carbs because of the energy expended to digest them, but they will not give you the protein and fat requirements that you will have and not only does that deprive the body of its needs but it also will result in being hungry and craving simple carbs intensely.

Yes, carbs in dairy count in a ketogenic diet but you will find that even without trying for a ketogenic effect, the lack of grain will still cause ketosis to start.

Hey, this 'diet' isn't really a 'diet' - it's actually the way people used to eat.  Everything Prodigal mentioned is accurate.  You don't have to eat "a lot" of meat... in fact, eggs are great for this, and the whole thing might seem difficult, but it's much easier than anyone imagines when they first set out on it.

This is they way i did it, and it was much easier than i thought it would be:

*Drink lots of water.

*Eat whole foods.

  1. Stop eating grain products.
  2. Eat no vegetable protein for 2 weeks.
    • Get some organic free-range eggs; cheese; milk - they are the cheapest staples.
    • Read the entire label of everything - even organic ice cream can contain soy!
  3. Weeks 3 & 4, gradually work in small amounts of beneficial vegetable proteins.
    • Oranges and grapefruits are GREAT on this for your Vitamin C.

At the end of the first month, i had lost all my unnecessary weight and began working vegetable proteins in at a more moderate rate...

The thing is, you will be able to tell if the vegetable protein you are choosing is right or not by the way you digest it.  Carrots, sweet potatoes, yams - very fibrous roots - can be irritating to some people.

Now, 3 months into this more normal eating style, i've worked in sprouted organic spelt flour.  You aren't leaving 'bread'.. you're just returning to the natural way humans eat! :)

Vitamin C is one of the most important nutrients you can get, and citrus fruits are among the best sources of it. Proteins and fats generally come from oily sources such as olives and avacados, besides seeds. In plant based sources, any "fruit" that contains fat and protein is preferable to seed derived sources for it's more digestible nature.

There's a good reason YHWH gave us ruminants for meat - they take on the labor of digesting and stabilizing that seed-y and fibrous plant material.. so perfect!

A ruminant is a mammal that digests plant-based food by initially softening it within the animal's first compartment of the stomach... then regurgitating the semi-digested mass, now known as cud, and chewing it again. hi, what do you think about berries that contain small seeds? like black berries or raspberries?

i've seen things about the stress hormones animals have in their bodies because of slaughter what do you think about those?

If you are not starting this diet because seeds caused you digestive problems in the first place, that small quantity of seeds should be fine. For anyone who has trouble digesting seeds, you might want to stay away from berries and vegetables containing them or the parts that do until your digestion regulates and the intestines heal.

A ketogenic diet should be done for at least a month if doing it for healing purposes, but never longer than 6 months.

An all fruit diet is perhaps the worst kind of diet i've ever heard of. Yes it will backfire in the sense that it will result in very poor health overall.

i ment the life styal change how people go on the atkins then it backfires do you think this will?

organic meat producers tend to be vocal on the humane treatment of their animals.  It's factory processed Face of Death farms to blame for animal stress hormones (just add them to the list of nasty hormones they inject them with!) 

Chickens are very vulnerable to stress hormones, being high-strung to begin with.. beef and other livestock kept in tiny pens with no interaction, disgusting surroundings and pumped full of drugs - THAT is a stressed-out animal. 

Organic providers are well-known for open pastures, clean environments and no nasty chemicals or practices... that is the type of animal Jacob himself would have raised - a happy one, and that is what you will get when you buy organic grass-fed beef, lamb, goat and free-range organic chicken..

humanely slaughtered as well, not by horrific machines, electrocution and violence.. the violence an animal suffers at death transfers into their systems and will be consumed by humans in the form of stress hormones..  Humanely slaughtered animals never even knew what happened, they died happy and never produced any final-freak-out yuckies.

i was a vegetarian for 10 years and i really thought about becoming a fruitarian there towards the end, but i realized that Yahushua would not have fed the masses with fish if it was bad, and stopped vegetarianism right then and there.

if you don't have meat fat, meat protein you will go insane, it's a proven scientific fact!

All trend diets will backfire in the sense of weight loss. The only good "diet" for weight loss is one you plan to live with a lifetime and which gives you all nutrients you need
