porcelain might be one of the best replacements for mercury fillings, but the procedure should really only be performed by a professional who knows, understands and cares about the reason mercury fillings are dangerous, and who would take all the proper steps to replace one. 

the best advice for those who aren't able to have their fillings replaced (and just in general), would be to eat properly and avoid simple carbohydrates, such as sugar, which promote internal candida yeast growth, which in turn causes a slew of health problems.
