Anti-Christian Misconceptions
I was in a conversation with an atheist and he tried to accuse the scripture, along with other lesser faiths of being responsible for most the world's wars and murders. This is a common atheist misconception. I would just like to take some time and point out how this is very, very inaccurate information...
"Notorious atheist butchers like Mao Zedong, Pol Pot, and Enver Hoxha slaughtered their own people at an unheard-of rate. When it comes to piling up a body count, atheists take second place to none."
Cambodia's Pol Pot eliminated an estimated one in five Cambodians during is regime...
"His harsh rule led to the deaths of an estimated one in five Cambodians, either through execution, illness, overwork, or starvation. He tried quickly to impose a communist rural utopia that excluded money, religion, property, cities, law, even romantic marriage." (Christian Science Monitor, February 1, 2005, 'The 20th century's most disastrous drive for rural utopia,' by Clayton Jones)
Not to mention Stalin, and Lenin.....Millions of people were slaughtered because of these men...
Were WW 1, WW 2, Vietnam, Korea, The Civil War, The Revolutionary War, The or of 1812, The Spanish American War, The 100 Year War, The Peloponnesian wars, or the Punic Wars fought over religion...?
Atheists please stop going on and on about how theists have been turning the world into a graveyard. Atheist regimes have killed more in total than theist ones...
And if a man who calls himself a Christian does abominable things he isn't a Christian. This is because a Christian is defined as a follower of Yahushua. A disciple of Yahushua with true faith (which merits works) will try to be pleasing to his Elohim. He will observe:
Matthew 5:44 - 45 - "But I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven; for He causes His sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.
According to the Gospel the second greatest commandment Yahushua gave to those who would follow Him is this:
Matthew 22:19 - "The second is like it, `YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF.'
Yahushua commands us to love...Consider these verses:
Deuteronomy 11:1 - "You shall therefore love YHWH your Elohim, and always keep His charge, His statutes, His ordinances, and His commandments.
John 14:15 - "If you love Me, you will keep My commandments.
Bottom line is don't blame the acts of wicked men who claim to be Christians on Yahushua or the scripture. It's obviously not what the Christian religion teaches according to the scripture and not the ideas of men.

True, Matt. Yet, regardless, we should remember, knowing what we know, that "wars" and "conflicts" described in history-whether "secular" or "religious"-stem from the same Beast powers...
It always amuses me when you hear of atheists, non-believers of any kind, act as if they are a tiny, persecuted minority that just cannot be heard. What evidence suggests that this is a world that loves His? Sheesh, look at Super secular Europe...and we're not far behind...
