Hi, are there any really good natural plants to deal with lots of irrational unwarranted anxiety?

high copper is a known producer of that type of anxiety especially in women and most especially in Rh negative women.. vegetarian diets also tend to produce a high-copper / low-zinc condition..

raising zinc levels and eating for your blood type can help balance copper and zinc levels in your blood.. so this is really the best way to treat the adverse effects (anxiety, depression, irrationality) of high copper..

Skullcap, Valerian and St. John's Wort all produce calming effects though not exactly the same effects and they can vary depending on the person.. Personally, i like skullcap because it works best for me.. researching these and other "calming" herbs can help you determine which one is most likely to help..

The best solution is treating the cause (copper imbalance) through proper diet, rather than only treating the the symptoms (anxiety) through supplements..

As O-negative for me, the most effective changes were switching to a higher protein, higher red-meat, diet, and reducing grains, seeds, nuts..

On a side-note.. dark chocolate is high in zinc and it's quite true that it can help reduce anxiety as it helps offset high copper :)

i've been seeing stuff that lables chocolate or even dark chocolate as something high in copper is that stuff untrue or does the amount of zinc make up for the amount of copper?

Dark chocolate contains 22% of the daily recommended amount of zinc and 89% for copper, however it also contains 67% for iron, which along with zinc will block copper uptake, so between both the iron and zinc content, the copper is blocked.

All food originating from seed will have a fair amount of copper.

B12 is the anxiety and depression antagonist vitamin for the nervous system. Just an extra dose of this vitamin daily will greatly reduce the amount of nervous system sensitivity you feel.

Along with supplements already mentioned, Chamomile and lemon balm are also a CNS calmatives. Valerian and Chamomile have similar effects, though one or the other tends to be more effective for each individual.

My anxiety was much abated when I went gluten free.  I feel my best when I limit all grains.  Magnesium is great too!  It utterly relaxes me, lifts my mood and improves my sleep.  There are several different forms of magnesium, so you have to find the best one for you.  Best wishes.
