It also brings life to the first human being. He tells the prophet to call for “breath” to come “from the four winds” and enter the bodies to bring them back to life. Interestingly enough, the words translated “breath,” “wind” and “spirit” in this passage are the same word in the Hebrew language that this was first written in.
There is something about messiah that is like a lamb, and something about the Holy Spirit that is like a dove. There is a common characteristic to the two--in a word, gentleness. Messiah and the Holy Spirit are gentle as a dove and a lamb.

Someone who is strong and healthy does not need gentleness. However, to someone who is weak and hurting, the quality of gentleness is needed to touch and heal.

The sensitivity of the Lamb brought healing, salvation and holiness.

[Note: Both the "Lamb" and the "Dove" will be involved in the fierce judgment of God: the "wrath" of the Lamb (Revelation 6:16) and the "sword" of the Dove (Jeremiah 46:16; 50:16). This is proof that the judgment of God is righteous and long-suffering. The sin is so evil that even the gentleness of the Lamb and the Dove are moved to punish the wicked.]

Messiah honored the poor. Through the ages, the poor have suffered similar persecution as women .This was a radical departure from the society of the time.

The faith was forged in the fires of false accusation, torture, and death, and in some places it is no different today. They persecuted the ancient Israelites, They persecuted Moses, They persecuted the prophets, They persecuted the Jews: in ancient times, in medieval times, in modern times and they will again sometimes in the future (mat 24:1521, Rev.12:13-17). Yahshua warned His followers: Remember the word that I said to you, A servant is not greater than his master. If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you John 15:20.
Bestowing the blessing.tag:timenolonger.ning.com,2013-01-16:5124148:BlogPost:288462013-01-16T15:28:30.000Zdavid omweno ongorihttps://timenolonger.ning.com/profile/davidomwenoongori

When we look in the eyes of Messiah, the fire that involve the physical eye, but the eye of the spirit (Ephesians 1:18).

Some people run from conference to conference, trying to get an impartation of the fire of Yahushua. Yet there is a direct, personal access to the fire of Yahushua that is available to us at any time. All we have to do is close our physical eyes, meditate on the scriptures describing the fire in the eyes of Messiah, imagining Him looking into our eyes , face to face: that spiritual flame will begin to flow from his soul into ours. The eyes are located in the centre of the face, halfway from the chin to the crown head. As we meditate on His shining face, we are transformed into the same image (II Corinthians 3:18). The spiritual transformation by meditating on the glory of Yahushua in the face of Messiah is a key to understanding the priestly blessings that “the lord would make His face shine on you” (numbers 6:25). The Aaronic benediction is fulfilled in Messiah our high priest.

Try to spend time every day meditating on the fire in the eyes of Messiah. This is how you can recognize the Spirit of yahushua: Every spirit that acknowledges that messiah has come in the flesh is from God, but every spirit that does not acknowledge messiah is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming and even now is already in the world.” – 1 John 4:1-3
Do not treat prophecies with contempt. Test everything. Hold on to the good. Avoid every kind of evil.”- 1 Thessalonians 5:20-22
When we study the New Testament to see how prophecy functioned in the early church, it is clear that they did not accept every prophecy brought in a church gathering as being from God (that is, as being authentic or legitimate).
Let us look quickly at the passages above. 1 Corinthians 14 contains the most extended discussion in the New Testament of prophetic gifts and their operation in the church. Several members or leaders in that church brought prophetic words in their meetings. It is a little unclear whether Paul’s reference to “two or three” refers to the number of people who can prophecy in a service (that is how the majority of modern translations understand the original Greek text), or if Paul meant that prophets should share two or three points at most and then allow for the others to evaluate (rather than allowing a prophetic to go on and on). In either case, for purposes of this study the point that “others should judge” is completely clear. In other words, in the apostolic era of the church, which gave us the pattern we should follow today, they had some process of testing every prophetic word in the church. The decision about whether a prophecy is true must come from others – not the person who delivered the prophecy.

The second passage above, from 1 John, warns that there are many false prophets around, including in the churches, and that we have a duty to test and determine the source of a prophecy. In the first-century church, two heresies were particularly prevalent: those teaching that Christians needed to follow John’s letters address mostly the second type of heresy – the mystics often denied that Jesus had a physical body when he came to earth, because they believed he was just a spirit. Today, we have other heresies causing problems, but some of them treat messiah mostly as an idea or a spiritual force, not as a person who calls us to obey him. False prophecies tend to point people in the direction of whatever heresy is current at the time, and away from the person of Jesus. They do not “acknowledge” messiah in the fullest sense, but instead deny or ignore certain things the Bible says about him. From this passage we glean that we should categorically reject prophecies that contradict Biblical doctrine, or that support heresies by telling people to follow someone who is teaching false doctrines. The Old Testament contained the same warning (Deuteronomy 13:1-5).
The third passage, from 1 Thessalonians, warns against rejection of all prophecies (some traditional churches have fallen into this trap). Instead, we are to “test everything” (evaluate every prophecy), hold onto the good ones, and throw away the bad ones (“avoid every evil”).
As mentioned above, the passage in 1 John teaches us to reject outright any prophecy that contradicts Biblical doctrines or statements in the Scriptures. If someone has a prophecy telling someone they are authorized to commit some sin (like adultery, or divorcing their spouse to take up with another person.
Ancient Israel had this problem, as described by Jeremiah: “The visions of your prophets were false and worthless; they did not expose your sin to ward off your captivity.” (Lamentations 2:14). In the end, the consequences of false prophecies – even those that come from the believer’s imagination rather than a demonic spirit – result in devastation for Yahushua’s people.
The Old Testament also warns against predictive prophecies that do not come to fulfillment (see Deuteronomy 18:22).

"The people of Israel called the bread manna. It was white like coriander seed and tasted like wafers made with honey."

The Lord brought the Israelites out of Egypt with many signs and wonders. Even so, the Hebrews rebelled against the Lord and complained that they had no food to eat. They foolishly believed that God had given them this great deliverance from Egypt only to let them starve in the desert! Yet the Lord had a plan to provide for His people. Each morning when the dew on the ground dried, thin white flakes appeared on the ground. Yahushua commanded them to gather manna each morning but only as much as they needed for that day. He provided this food for them for forty years as they followed Him in the desert.

The manna is a type of the Lord Jesus (see John 6:58). Like the manna, Messiah came from heaven to the earth by a miracle. Just as the manna was the only sustenance for the Hebrews for their forty years of trials in the desert, Jesus is the only nourishment for our souls. Like our messiah, the manna was something the people did not earn or deserve. It was a gift of our Elohim. The manna was white, symbolizing the holiness of the Lord. Likewise, our messiah came to earth as a man yet retained all his Holiness on this earth. Finally, the manna tasted like honey, a recurring Biblical symbol speaking of our messiah and the sweetness of the nourishment that He brings to our souls (see Judges 14:8, 1 Samuel 14:24, Proverbs 16:24).

The manna appeared daily because the Hebrews needed daily nourishment. When our messiah taught the disciples how to pray, he told them to ask for their "daily bread" for that day. Our daily bread is the same as the daily manna for the Hebrews - Messiah. We need his revelation, his Word, his presence in our lives every day. How do we gather this spiritual nourishment each day? We seek the Lord and we plead with him to give us "our daily bread." For example, there is a parallel between the Hebrews gathering of manna and "early morning prayer" The Lord gives a special blessing for those who seek Him in the early morning and ask for their own nourishment for that day.

Messiah gave a restriction on how they were to gather the manna. They could gather only what they needed for that day (Ex. 16:19-20). There was a temptation for the Hebrews to gather manna for more than one day. Messiah did not allow this because He requires His people to seek him every day, not just fill up on one spiritual high and then drift away from Him for a while. When the people gathered more manna than they needed for one day, the manna would spoil before the next day (see verse 20), a symbol of how blessings from our messiah can be lost if we do not continuously come to Him.

There was one additional requirement on the gathering of manna. They could not gather it on the Sabbath, the sacred Day of Rest (see verses 22-24). In our churches, we do not keep a physical Sabbath day of rest as some do. Our Sabbath is the spiritual rest that we have in the Lord. In fact, the Sabbath in the Bible is a symbol of our messiah Himself, who said, "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." (Mt 11:28). Those who did not observe their Sabbath found that there was no manna waiting for them on that day (see v. 27), and they went hungry as a result. They are a symbol of those today who hear the word and taste the blessings that the Lord gives, but choose to remain in the world. They continue to live without messiah' rest in their souls.

Our messiah commanded Aaron (through Moses) to store one "omer" of manna in a jar (verse 33). An omer was the amount of manna that one person ate during one day (verse 16). This jar of manna was eventually stored inside the Ark of the Covenant (see Heb. 9:4), where it became a perpetual symbol of our messiah. Messiah is the bread of life that sustains our souls. The Hebrews named this food "manna," which is Hebrew for "What is it?" They did not have a better word for it, so they named it "What is it?" It must have been amazing – even mysterious – to awake each morning to have all of your food for the day provided for you by a miracle. The provision by the Lord for His faithful is also a mystery. When we first have an experience with the Lord, we marvel and ask ourselves "What is it?" When we see the Lord work in more profound ways in our midst, we still say, in our messiah we have spiritual nourishment for our souls that we have neither earned nor deserved. He sustains us each day when we rise early and seek Him for what we need each day, and He will continue to sustain us until the day when He raptures His faithful church from this spiritual wilderness and brings us into the promised land of Heaven.

“For rebellion is like the sin of divination, and arrogance like the evil of idolatry. Because you have rejected the word of the LORD, he has rejected you as king."

Saul sinned and lost everything our Elohim had given him. The prophet Samuel even called Saul’s sin “idolatry,” even though Saul had not worshipped any statue or graven image. How was Saul guilty of idolatry? Why was his sin so serious that Yahushua permanently rejected him? This study examines these two questions.

Saul’s sin was a common one for religious people. He simply followed his own opinions and will. He departed a little from what the Lord revealed. He offered sacrifices to Elohim, and he thought Yahushua should be satisfied. Yet he sacrificed something the Lord had said He did not want. Religion does not care what God really wants; religion gives God what it wants to give, and expects God to accept anything. When it came to obedience, Saul would obey parts of what the Lord revealed, and he thought God should be satisfied with that. He did not understand that neglecting the other parts of God’s will constituted simple “disobedience.” Yahushua sent Saul into a battle with a specific enemy, and told him to take no plunder and no captives. Yet Saul took a little plunder to offer as a sacrifice to God, and a few captives who were royalty, who seemed special. Saul disobeyed, deviated from God’s plan. The prophet Samuel calls this idolatry.

Today, God has a project, a Work that He is completing according to specific plans and guidelines. When we deviate from this plan and follow our own preferences and desires, this is idolatry. We can be idolaters even if we do not have statues or religious images. Idolatry is deviating from the revealed project. We are not talking about emotions or sentimentalism here, or about the vague idea of “idolatry in our hearts.” We are talking about what we do - whether we obey Yahushua or not.

Suppose our Elohim reveals that He does not like a certain kind of music in worship, or that He wants us to baptize people in a certain way. Perhaps the revelation does not fit with our personalities, our culture, our preferences, or our opinions. As a result, we decide to obey everything except the parts we don’t like. This is what Saul did. The scriptures call it idolatry.

Idolatry takes subtle forms, as when people take a good thing – like family – and turn it into an idol, something we obey instead of Yahushua. Family should be a priority, and it is godly to have a loving family. Yet Messiah cautioned us: “Anyone who loves his father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; anyone who loves his son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.” (Matt. 10:37). Sometimes the Lord reveals something in the church, and one of the mothers in the church wants the pastor to make an exception for her son or daughter. If the Lord revealed the exception (not to the mother, who is biased), that is one thing – but if we are deviating from God’s revealed plan or project because of family affection, this can be idolatry.

Idolatry also takes blatant forms. We must be careful about this as well. False religions make statues of their imaginary gods and the men who founded their faith. Even Christians sometimes do this, thinking idols are acceptable as long as they represent Jesus, angels, or characters from the Bible. When God gives Moses the Ten Commandments, He explicitly forbids making or worshipping carved images. “You shall not make for yourself a carved image – any likeness of anything that is in heaven above…you shall not bow to them nor serve them…” (Ex. 20: 4-5). Making them and worshipping them are both violations. The Lord forbade even images that represented the true God – this was not just a prohibition against false gods. “…you saw no form when the Lord spoke to you…lest you act corruptly and make for yourselves a carved image in the form of any figure, the likeness of male or female…” (Deut. 4:15-19). Because of these rules, the Israelites could not make images representing God, the prophets, or any other image, whether carved images or drawings. This ban carries into the New Testament.

The New Testament warns us that idolatry always connects people to evil spirits, even though the idol itself has no spiritual value:

Do I mean then that a sacrifice offered to an idol is anything, or that an idol is anything? No, but the sacrifices of pagans are offered to demons, not to Yahushua, and I do not want you to be participants with demons. You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons too; you cannot have a part in both the Lord's table and the table of demons. Are we trying to arouse the Lord's jealousy? Are we stronger than he? (1 Cor. 10:19-22)

Paul says, “Do not be partakers with demons.” Idolatry makes us partakers with demons, regardless of the good intentions we think we have in our hearts. Idols “arouse the Lord’s jealousy,” putting us under judgment.

It is not only worshippers who are idolaters, but anyone who partakes in idolatry. When the Bibles talks about idolatry, it includes making the images, possessing the images, treating the image like it has spiritual power, participating in religious services where the images are present, as well as worship or reverence for the image.

Idolatry has even infiltrated Christianity. Misguided Christians make, own, and use crosses, crucifixes, etc. They have pictures of messiah, pictures and statues of Mary, pictures of angels, etc. It is still idolatry; just as in the Old Testament, it constituted idolatry if the image supposedly represented Yahweh or some angelic being. Some Christians say that the picture of our messiah, or movie of Jesus, is not an idol as long as we do not worship it. Yet they treat the image with care and respect, as something holy, and they believe it helps them feel closer to the Lord. The scripture includes such reverence and spiritual usage of images in its definition of idolatry.

The early Christians did not use crosses or pictures of Jesus. We have artwork from the first-century Christians on the walls of catacombs underneath the city of Rome, where those early believers met secretly to have services. Interestingly, the early Christian artwork is completely missing crosses, or pictures of a man with long hair and a beard, or of angels – the three images most common among Christians today. It is striking that the early Christians avoided the very things that modern evangelicals consider so essential. These images came into the church much later, after most of the people in the church were no longer believers.

Idolaters always raise various objections or arguments to defend them. One objection is that the visual images help us with our faith, help us focus our prayers or understand the Bible stories. The exact opposite is true – it teaches people not to trust an invisible God, or to trust the Word, but instead that faith must be in material things. In fact, biblical faith “comes by hearing,” not by seeing. (Romans 10:17). “We walk by faith, not by sight.” (2 Cor. 5:7)

“Yahushua is Spirit and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and in truth.” (Jo. 4:24) The Holy Spirit will not establish His Work completely in churches where there are idols. The warnings about idolatry run throughout the New Testament, just as they are everywhere in the Old Testament:

1 Corinthians 5:10 “the people of this world who are immoral, or the greedy and swindlers, or idolaters.”
1 Corinthians 5:11 “But now I am writing you that you must not associate with anyone who calls himself a brother but is sexually immoral or greedy, an idolater or a slanderer, a drunkard or a swindler. Yet the Bible has a unified theme from beginning to end because of the unified inspiration of the Holy Spirit.

The theme of the kingdom of God develops through out the Bible in a progressive revelation. In the very last chapter, Messiah gives perhaps the shortest sermon of all time. Yet repeats it 3 times.

Revelation 22:7-I am coming quickly.”

The time is at hand. Every generation preached the message of the kingdom in the light of the historical conditions of their age. Moses led the people out of Egypt: Joshua conquered the land, David established the kingdom, and Solomon built the Temple: Jeremiah prophesied the destruction of Jerusalem, Zechariah and Zerubabel restored the remnant, John the Baptist introduced Yahushua is second coming, peter brought the gospel to Israel, Paul established the international church.

Now we are approaching the second coming. What is the call of Yahushua on this generation at the beginning of the fulfillment of the end times’prophecies? The focus of the gospel now is to be prepared for the second coming. The message is urgent.

Messiah warned that, in the last days, the world would face unfolding trauma. There would be wars, earthquakes and many other disasters.

Tongues and Interpretation are the eighth and ninth spiritual gifts – the last two in the list. We always discuss them together because they should always occur together in the church. (If you have not received our lessons on the other spiritual gifts, please notify us by email and we will send them to you). We want to have all nine gifts in our churches.

The Gift of Tongues has been the most controversial spiritual gift for the last 100 years. It is also partly due to the constant abuses of the Gift of Tongues by Pentecostal and Charismatic Churches, which scandalize other evangelicals and cause spiritual harm to their own members. In our churches, we feel it is very important to have Tongues and Interpretation function properly in our churches, and to avoid any abuses or confusion about these spiritual gifts. The Bible says we should not have everyone speak in Tongues at the same time during our services (see 1 Cor. 14:23, 27, 32-33), but the largest Pentecostal denominations ignore the Bible and do this anyway. On the other hand, the Bible says clearly, "Do not forbid speaking in tongues," (1 Cor. 14:39), but many fundamentalist churches (and missionary organizations) in the West disobey this Scripture, and forbid speaking in Tongues. There seems to be less controversy or contention about Tongues and Interpretation in Africa and Asia, fortunately. Most believers accept it, but there is still much confusion and uncertainty about the issue.

As with all the spiritual gifts, God's purpose or goal is to edify the whole church through the proper functioning of the gift. (See 1 Cor. 12:7; 1 Cor. 14:5). It is never the Holy Spirit's intention to draw attention to an individual person or elevate a man in God's house. Any time a spiritual gift is functioning in a way that elevates or promotes the person bringing the gift, something is wrong. The Gift of Tongues is the only spiritual gift by which the Bible says a person "edifies himself" (1 Cor. 14:4). It is unique in that sense, and is therefore more prone to abuse in the church services, because people derive a personal benefit or blessing from speaking in Tongues, even if it disrupts the church service. The Holy Spirit does not want to disrupt the church service, but rather wants order and peace (1 Cor. 14:33). The individual can still receive their personal blessing or edification by speaking in Tongues very softly, almost silently, without distracting anyone else in the service (1 Cor. 14:28).

The Gift of Tongues (along with Interpretation) is not an earthly language. We sometimes meet people who think that this is merely the special ability some people have for learning foreign languages. They are mistaken. Spiritual gifts are miraculous operations of the Spirit, not just abilities or talents - like language acquisition skills - that even an unbeliever might have. When Tongues occurs in our churches, it is not an earthly language like English, Kiswahili, or Hindi. It is a heavenly language (see 1 Cor. 14:1-2, 13:1), which nobody could learn in a school or from books. The words come from the Holy Spirit not from the person's mind (1 Cor. 14:15). In fact, the original Greek New Testament usually uses different words for the Gift of Tongues and specific, earthly languages like Hebrew or Greek (but there are a few exceptions to this). The Gift of Tongues is a heavenly language. We can know the meaning of the words only by another miracle, the Gift of Interpretation.

Contrary to what some large Pentecostal churches teach, Tongues is not a universal gift that everyone receives. The Bible is clear that not all will have this gift (see 1 Cor. 12:30 - Do all speak in tongues? Do all interpret?"). Paul lists the nine spiritual gifts saying "to one is given…" and then "to another," meaning that no members have all the gifts, and no gift is given to all members. Instead, the complete menu of gifts can occur only in the Body as a whole. We must be clear on this point: Tongues is nota required sign for everyone who receives the Baptism in the Spirit, contrary to what others teach. Those other churches call tongues the "initial evidence," the absolute test to determine whether the Baptism in the Spirit occurred.
