Down the Rabbit Hole with Fran Drescher

Saw today that last month, Fran Drescher told Huffington Post that she and her ex-husband had both been abducted by aliens.

"You know, it's funny because Peter (Fran's ex-husband) and I both saw [aliens] before we knew each other, doing the same thing, driving on the road with our dads," Fran tells me, in all seriousness.

"We were both in junior high. A few years later, we met, and we realized that we had the same experience. I think that somehow we were programmed to meet. We both have this scar. It's the exact same scar on the exact same spot."

But ex-husband Peter Marc Jacobson wasn't so convinced of the couple's extraterrestrial pasts. He says Fran got the small scar on her hand from a a drill bit or burning herself holding a hot cup of water. But Fran says, no way. "I said to him, that's what the aliens programmed us to think," Fran explains. "But really, that's where the chip is."

Interesting.

So.. sometime in 1971, while on a drive with her dad, Jr. High aged Fran was abducted... and the Jr. High aged man she later met and married, Peter Marc Jacobson, was also abducted under the exact same circumstances.

Fran's father, Mort, a US Navy systems analyst project manager in technology, was easy to find... Peter's father was oddly difficult to trace though, and in fact I couldn't find anything at all about any of his family members. Weirdness.

Around the same Jr. High time that she was abducted, Fran realized she wanted to pursue acting. "While attending Parsons Junior High, Drescher realized she was interested in acting..." Pretty coincidental timing there, or something. In Drama Club at Hillcrest High, she and Peter finally met.

In 1978, 7 years after the abduction, she and Peter married. 7 Years later, in January of 1985, "two armed robbers broke into Drescher and Jacobson's Los Angeles apartment. While one ransacked their home, the other raped Drescher and a girlfriend at gunpoint. Jacobson was also physically attacked, tied up, and forced to witness the entire ordeal." 11 years later, in 1999, Peter announced he was gay, and they divorced.

9 years later, "In September 2008, Drescher, a Democrat, was appointed as a U.S. diplomat by George W. Bush Administration's Assistant Secretary of State Goli Ameri. Her official title is Public Diplomacy Envoy for Women's Health Issues."

"She will be using her international celebrity to speak to women globally in emerging third world countries in the Middle East and Eastern Europe. She has now introduced an initiative in the state of California to mandate womens cancer screening tests at their basic exams."

"Fran will be participating in Al Gore’s 24 Hours of Reality on Thursday 9/15 from 1-2pm being broadcast on the internet globally. She will be on a panel that will discuss climate change in South Africa... The next day, September 16th, Fran will be speaking at a UNICEF (United Nations Children's Fund) event... To wrap up her whirlwind trip to NYC, she will be a guest at CGI – the Clinton Global Initiative on September 20th through the 22nd."
