Above it stood the seraphims: each one had six wings; with twain he covered his face, and with twain he covered his feet, and with twain he did fly. And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, [is] the YHWH of hosts: the whole earth [is] full of His glory." - Isaiah 6:1-3

Seraphim is the plural of seraph.. the definition of seraph is fiery serpent.. Isaiah saw winged fiery serpents above the throne of YHWH and the fiery flying serpents cried "Holy Holy Holy YHWH of hosts: the whole earth full of His glory."

Seraph

below, we can see Gesenius' Lexicon entry...

In closing, he notes his opinion - which is the same as the 'mainstream Christianity' opinion - that "The idea of winged serpents surrounding the throne of God is in itself wildly incongruous..."

is it "Incongruous"?... Fallen angels were once holy angels.. there is zero evidence to support Satan and the other fallen angels losing their forms or wings after they fell.. there is plenty of evidence to the contrary though.. the most simple being the fact that the word seraph means literally fiery serpent and that word is used not once, but twice, to denote angels above the Throne.

Satan, the serpent, the dragon.. was once a holy angel, until the day he sinned.. he is still an angel.. a fallen angel, but an angel still.

the scripture uses the plural form because there is more than one seraph above the throne of YHWH.. holy seraph angels are no less holy just because Satan has the same form in his fallen state.. the holy seraph are still seraph.. still fiery flying serpents.. and there are multitudes of fallen seraphim.. it doesn't mean they have a different form.. they are just devoid of the light of YHWH which they once had before they fell.

in Eden, there was a serpent.. the serpent, the creature, was something YHWH created, just as He did the other animal creatures in Eden.. Satan spoke to Eve to tempt her through the serpent creature.

Satan chose the serpent as the animal he would possess because he himself was a seraph - a fiery flying serpent.. there were no other Humans created in Eden other than Adam and Eve.. but Satan had to appear harmless.. so he entered a creature in Eden which was most like himself.

Winged serpents would be called 'dragons'.. much like the ancient images of "Chinese Dragons" which have flames and wings..

The holy angels have forms.. we know from scripture the Cherubim have their forms, as do the watchers.. and seraphim likewise have their forms, the fiery flying serpents.. and this is a fact which should be accepted and understood for what it is, not argued against for what it's not.

GEsenius' opinion, and the opinion of anyone else not willing to take the truth at face value, is irrelevant in the face of simple facts.

these days all believers should be prepared for the unexpected.. and knowing the truth is what allows us to do that.. to judge between clean and unclean.. outward appearances can be deceiving.. "And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light." - 2 Corinthians 11:14
